I'm so excited! My sister, Bonnie, and I went shopping the other day for fabric to make an Easter skirt for her daughter, Breanna. My sister doesn't sew (yet!) so she asked me to make it. Because I'm fairly new to this whole quilting/sewing stuff I'm excited to give this a try!!! :o) This is the skirt pattern my sister found at Everyday Chaos. Isn't it the CUTEST thing ever?!?!? I think it'll be so darling on my niece!
This is the fabric she chose! Isn't it so pretty?!?!?! It's called "Verona" from Riley Blake. The greens and browns work so well together! I'm lovin' it!!! :o)
So, of course, I couldn't leave the quilt shop without getting some fabric to make my granddaughter a skirt, too! What kind of grandma would I be if I did that?!?!? So I picked up some of this for Cambria's skirt . . .
Don't you just LOVE it?!?!? This fabric is from "Papillon" by 3 Sisters. I am so in love with these colors and prints!!! I think it'll make such a sweet little skirt for my sweet little granddaughter! I'll definitely show you pictures when it's done!
Well I better get busy, busy, busy! LOVE IT!!! :o)

It's Good to be Alive!
I'm baaack!!! It feels so good to be among the living after eight miserable weeks! Blick! :p
What a relief it was to get all that quilty tension out of my system by working on some quilts again! I worked on two different quilts today. This first one is for my granddaughter, Cambria. She turned three . . . in February! :/ She told me she understands that her birthday present is late because I've been so sick. Today on the phone she said that she can't wait to get her "blankie quilt!" Too cute!!! :o) Unfortunately, I didn't get it finished -- it's all sandwiched and ready to quilt though! Oh, and guess what?!?!? I used this really cool spray adhesive instead of safety pins to make the sandwich! It helped things go so much faster! Sweet stuff!
I'm a little nervous about quilting this myself because it will only be the second one I've ever done! Here's a little sneak peak until I get it quilted and can show you the whole thing (sorry the pictures are so terrible -- my cell phone camera will just have to do until we can get our camera replaced) . . .
What do you think?!?!? Did you notice the minky? I've never used it -- only felt it in stores as I walked by -- but I knew my granddaughter would just love cuddling up with it! :o)
OK. So the next quilt is for my grandson who is due to join our family any day now!!! Woo-hoo! I love being a grandma!!! :o) Anyway, it's actually not a quilt, it's a receiving blanket. You can never have enough of those, right?!?!? :o) I have a little more to do on his, too, so I'm going to give you just a quick shot of what I'm doing with it . . .
Today was definitely an applique day for me! So . . . can you tell what his name is going to be by the little hint the picture gave you??? When I get this finished I'll post a picture and then you'll be able to see what it is! (Oh, the anticipation!) :o)
What a great day today was! *Sigh* I hope yours was, too!!! :o)

Look What Came in the Mail!!!
I'm sorry I've been "missing in action" for a while. I've been quite sick for . . . well, too long, but a couple of days ago my spirits were lifted up when my son brought in the mail. Nope, I didn't get any bills that day, I got a special package! You see, a little while ago I became a follower at Leona's Quilting Adventure because I loved her blog! *** By the way, if you're not one of her followers you should be! She has AWESOME posts and is VERY talented with her quilts!!! You've just gotta go check her out!!! ***
Well I just happened to be her 1,000 follower! Pretty cool, huh?!?!? (I can't imagine having 1,000 followers!) Anyway, I thought it was neat that she had reached such an awesome milestone in the blogging world and then I continued checking things out on her blog. Well a couple of days later Leona sent me an e-mail where she told me that she wanted to send me a "little" something to thank me for being her 1,000 follower! How awesome is that?!?!? I was impressed and figured I'd be getting a pretty little fat quarter or something. BOY, WAS I WRONG!!! Look at what she sent me . . .
Look at all this cool "stuff" I got! There's tons of beautiful fabric, an incredible quilting book that will really help me while I'm learning all the ins and outs of quilting, three spools of pretty thread, and a handout about thread so I can learn why it matters what kind of thread you use!
Can you believe how generous Leona is?!?!? I wish I could meet her in person and give her a big hug to thank her for being so kind! I think I'll tell my doctor that the quickest way to feeling better is a healthy dose of quilty goodness!!! :)
Thanks, Leona!!! :)

How about a Leap Year Day giveaway!!!
Happy Leap Year Day!!! (???) I thought I'd join in the fun of
giving away something to help celebrate Leap Year!
This is seven fat quarters of Hawaiian fabric! Looking out my window at all the snow I thought today needed something cheery!!!
You have two chances to win (Sorry - No international entries this time):
1. Become a follower of my blog and leave me a comment that you are.
2. Leave a second comment telling me what kind of quilty project you're working on!
Simple!
I'll choose the winner tomorrow (March 1st) at 10:00 p.m. (MST) so good luck to everyone!!! :o)
I got this great idea from Such a Sew and Sew. I'm embarassed, but I did it wrong and can't figure out how to fix the links and add the cute button and all that other bloggy "stuff!" Anyway, go on over to her blog to see who else is celebrating Leap Year by giving something away!!! :o)
Hugs!
